Brownes Farmhouse & Townhouse

Co. Waterford, Ireland

About The Owner

Four years ago, my husband and myself found ourselves with a decision to make, either to do up his former family home or allow it go into disrepair. My in- laws were the most hospitable people I have ever met, and always had a welcome and enough potatoes in the pot for anyone who arrived unexpectedly. For us it was an easy decision to refurbish the house and to continue that spirit of welcome long into the future.

Having researched the history of the house, we found out it was a ' Safe-House' during the Civil war in Ireland. It is great to think people are still taking refuge here from the stresses and strains of their busy lives. The refurbishment of the farmhouse started us on this journey and we like the life so much, that in 2015, we bought Brownes Townhouse to have another option for our visitors.
I was working as Logistics director for a major multinational for many years and have now changed direction to allow me to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of our local area.
We understand only too well,  the limited holiday time people have, so we make it our priority to ensure that our visitors have everything they need at Brownes to make their holiday the best ever. We have 3 boys and we love spending time visiting all of the local attractions. One of our boys is a wheelchair user and we were very keen for our self-catering properties  to be accessible to all.

We are available to our guests at all times should you have any difficulty or have forgotten something. We hope you enjoy your stay and feel it is a real home from home.
