Things To Do On The Copper Coast
The Copper Coast - 50 minutes from our self catering accommodation
For fabulous undiscovered scenery take the coast road from Dungarvan through Clonea, Stradbally and Annestown all the way to Tramore. It might add a little time to your journey but it is worth it. As they say ' it would take the eye out of your head'.
The Copper Coast is named for the historic metal-mining industry, the legacies of which now constitute a tourist attraction.
The area was declared a European Geopark in 2001 and a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2004. This geologically diverse area contains records of Palaeozoic volcanism and the last ice age. The area has a wealth of beautiful yet "undiscovered" secluded coves and beaches, each with a story to tell. It took more than 460 million years to create the Copper Coast, so take your time to visit and explore it!
